起动机作为柴油发电机组最重要的零部件之一，在使用的时候，要注意一下几点：
1、当已经做好准备工作后，掀下启动按钮，柴油机齿轮即与飞轮齿圈啮合，并开始运转。正常情况下一次即能启动，如一次启动不成功，必须待起动机电枢完全静止后方可进行下一次起动。否则起动机齿轮将与柴油机齿圈发生剧烈撞击而损坏。
2、每次起动时间不超过5秒，二次起动之间的间隔应大于2分钟。
3、当连续几次不能起动时，应对起动机、柴油机、蓄电池和连线等进行检查，排除故障后再起动。
4、柴油机一旦起动，应立即松开起动按钮，使起动机齿轮自啮合位置退回原位而停止工作，以免超速而损坏起动机。

Under normal circumstances, it can be started in one go. If the first start is unsuccessful, the starter armature must be completely stationary before proceeding to the next start. 2. The starting time should not exceed 5 seconds each time, and the interval between two starts should be greater than 2 minutes.
3. When the engine fails to start several times in a row, the starter, diesel engine, battery, and wiring should be checked, and the fault should be eliminated before starting again.
4. Once the diesel engine is started, the start button should be immediately released to allow the starter gear to return to its original position and stop working, in order to prevent damage to the starter due to overspeed.
